Family meeting week will be April 21-25th. Your student’s advisor will be contacting you to schedule a meeting during this time. During the meeting, you will be discussing what classes your students will be taking next year, as well as address any questions or concerns you or their advisor may have regarding their academic performance or behavior.

Teacher Appreciation Week is May 5-9th. Our dedicated and passionate teachers work extremely hard to provide our students with the best educational experience possible. Parents and students can show appreciation to our teachers through thank you cards, snacks or treats, a small gift, or even a quick e-mail! We are hoping to coordinate something special for each day of the week. There will be more details in next week’s Parent Press.

What is The Day of Silence? “The Day of Silence is a student-led national event that brings attention to anti-LGBT name-calling, bullying and harassment in schools. Students from middle school to college take a vow of silence in an effort to encourage schools and classmates to address the problem of anti-LGBT behavior by illustrating the silencing effect of bullying and harassment on LGBT students and those perceived to be LGBT” (dayofsilence.org).

Without any prompting, several of our young leaders participated in The Day of Silence in support of LGBT students everywhere. We were inspired by their solidarity, and have decided to have a school-wide Day of Silence next Friday, April 17th.

We would like to acknowledge one of our dedicated board members, Sally Johnston, who attended the Parent Association meeting last week to offer support. She is experienced with finance and is excited to be working with our families. Thank you, Sally!
