Parents/Guardians of 11th Graders

Every 10th and 11th grader will be taking the PSAT at school onOct. 14th.  The test is free, but there is a $15 fee for the score report.  The score report provides a detail analysis of how your student did on the test and what they can do to prepare for the actual SAT in the Spring.  Please pay in cash or by check (payable to Leadership High School) to your student’s advisor byOct. 1st.

Personal Statements

Seniors are putting a tremendous amount of work into their Personal Statements. They are off to a great start due to the guidance of English 12 teachers Ms. Large and Mr. Ellis. The Personal Statement is a mandatory written piece for UC and private university applications. It is a student’s declaration of who they are and who they will become. Students are required to go through multiple edits in order to craft the perfect written piece. Support your student by offering to read their Personal Statement and provide them with both positive and constructive feedback.

Family Meeting Week

Family Meeting Week is your opportunity to check in with your child and their advisor regarding their academic progress and goals. Your child’s advisor will be contacting you to schedule a meeting. If you have not heard from your child’s advisor, please contact Office Manager Emma Cizek at ecizek@leadershiphigh.org or 415-841-8910. Family meetings happen twice a year, once at the beginning of each semester. Please note that this is an early release week, with school ending at 2:05pm on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, and 12:05pm on Wednesday.

Forms

All families MUST submit an emergency contact form and a free/reduced lunch application. The emergency form is vital to keeping your student safe and family informed in the event of an emergency. If you have not submitted an emergency contact form, please ask your child to pick one up from the main office. The data gathered from free/reduced lunch application is the main way that Leadership receives funding from the San Francisco Unified School District and the state. We understand that not all families qualify, and that not all students want to eat school lunch. Due to the financial impact these applications have on our community, however, we ask every family to do their part by submitting an application. You can submit your free/reduced lunch application here, or pick up a paper application in our main office.

Donations

Leadership High School is a thriving community! We are grateful to accept donations such as tissues, hand sanitizer, Clorox wipes, feminine products, and first aid items. Donations can be dropped off at the main office.

If you have items for the Parent Press, please contact Office Manager, Emma Cizek, at ecizek@leadershiphigh.org.
