Learning and Leading through Service

At LHS, learning to lead is connected with learning to serve.  LHS students are expected to demonstrate social responsibility in their communities by being active citizens, allies to others, and advocates for social change.  Through their service in the community, Leadership students are expected to learn the value of giving to others and to develop the skills they will need to lead in their own lives and in the community.

Community Service is a graduation requirement for all students.  Students are required to serve thirty-five hours each year.  Through Advisory, students reflect on the learning they gain through their service opportunities.  Additionally, community service plays a central role in both the Junior and Senior Projects and Exhibitions.
